Tapuika Iwi Authority Trust and Tapuika Oranga Ake Trust (previously Tapuika Fisheries Trust) have the same trustees and are run in parallel. Governance is through elected representatives comprising two hapū representatives from each of the four hapū. There are also three taurahere representatives from around Aotearoa (Northern, Central/Lower North, Southern). Trustees serve a term of three years before retiring or seeking re-election.
