
Tapuika Iwi Authority Trust and Tapuika Oranga Ake Trust (previously known as Tapuika Fisheries Trust) have the same trustees and are run in parallel. Governance is through elected representatives comprising two hapū representatives from each of the four hapū. There are also three taurahere representatives from around Aotearoa (Northern, Central/Lower North, Southern). Trustees serve a term of three years before retiring or seeking re-election.

The Operations team are responsible for the provision of secretarial, administrative, financial, natural/environmental resource management, reporting, developing and maintaining key relationships, and delivering projects in line with our Strategic and Annual Plan, for Tapuika Iwi Authority, Tapuika Oranga Ake and Tapuika Holdings Limited.
The Operations team is led by Te Hingatu Marsh, our Kaiwhakahaere Matua / General Manager.

Kaunihera Koeke / Council of Elders
The Kaunihera Koeke advise on cultural matters pertaining to Tapuika. They are the experts in Tapuika reo, whakapapa, history, customs and traditional practice. Members of the Kaunihera Koeke are not permitted to be Trustees or Operational Staff.
