3. Eponymous Ancestors

The eponymous ancestor is Tapuika. All Tapuika descent lines to Tapuika
connect through the following ancestors: Makahae, Huritini, Marangaiparoa,
Tukutuku, Tamateranini, Tuariki

3.1 Definition of Claimant Group

a. The Claimant Group consists of those members of Tapuika who, by whakapapa, legal adoption or whangai arrangement, can claim descent from the tupuna Tapuika and his uri.

b. Tapuika the Claimant Group, are those persons whose claims would be settled
as a consequence of negotiations with the Crown and who would be eligible to
become beneficiaries of any settlement with the Crown.
