Thank you all for your warm welcome here today for these celebrations to mark the Crown's recognition of the mandates of Te Maru o Ngati Rangiwewehi Iwi Authority and the Tapuika Iwi Authority to represent Ngati Rangiwewehi and Tapuika in negotiations with the Crown.

Mandating Hui Now Complete

Phew the final mandating hui was held at Makahae Marae on Sunday 31 August 2008.

Tapuika Iwi Authority Trust Mandating Hui

At a Special General Hui a Iwi of Tapuika held at Ngati Moko Marae, Te Puke on the 10th December 2006, it was resolved that the Tapuika Iwi Authority would be established as a Common Law Trust for the purposes of negotiating settlement of all Tapuika historical Treaty of Waitangi Claims with the Crown. The Tapuika Iwi Authority Trust has since been established and the Crown has committed to entering into settlement negotiations subject to the Crown approving the mandate of the Tapuika Iwi Authority Trust.
